The GRIT team is proud to announce the company is now officially certified as a Women’s Business Enterprise by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). The WBENC Certification is the gold standard for women-owned businesses in the United States because the certification process is rigorous and requires business owners to submit detailed documentation, participate in an onsite interview and more to demonstrate the company is owned and operated by a woman or women.

“Since GRIT’s founding, the business has been owned and operated by women and I am honored to work alongside amazing women on the GRIT team, with our client partners and in our community. Officially becoming WBENC-Certified will provide our team with access to resources and programs as well as help strengthen partnerships with our existing clients and expand opportunities for new relationships. By including women-owned businesses among their partners, clients can access tax incentives, demonstrate their commitment to working with diverse suppliers as well as other benefits,” shared Lissa Scott, GRIT’s Owner & President.

The WBENC standard of certification implemented by the Women’s Business Enterprise Center East is a meticulous process, including an in-depth review of the business. The certification process is designed to confirm the business is at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by a woman or women, and that the business has appropriate structure and strategic business planning and implementation in place. The WBENC Certification helps empower women as leaders and brings about a more diverse, balanced and sustainable economy.

“This is another exciting milestone in our journey that began 16 years ago when GRIT was founded. We look forward to the opportunities this designation will offer to our team and the clients we are honored to serve,” added Scott.
