GRIT Marketing Group served as the region’s local public relations contact for the year leading up to and through the completion of the 2015 U.S. Women’s Open held in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Working closely with the championship director, GRIT was responsible for gaining earned media coverage throughout the year – instead of an extensive paid advertising campaign – to raise awareness and ticket sales leading up to the Championship.

Prior to executing public relations efforts, GRIT provided hands-on media training for the championship director and Lancaster Country Club leadership. Once complete, GRIT worked closely with the Championship’s marketing team to develop a calendar of strategic story angles to secure positive, earned media coverage leading up to and during Championship week.

From handling media during Championship news conferences, to escorting media on the course to meet fan favorites during practice rounds, to coordinating a media Q&A with Arnold Palmer himself, GRIT served as the go-to contact for media throughout the region who wanted the inside news on the 2015 U.S. Women’s Open.
