Email Newsletter Enhances Engagement with Residents

Farm Lane Estates, an in-demand neighborhood in southwest York, PA, connected with GRIT to help them create and launch a new e-newsletter targeted to their community members. Having supported the neighborhood for many years, including developing the website and supporting many community-building initiatives, GRIT was excited to help create a valuable resource the Farm Lane Estates team could use to enhance connection and engagement with their residents.

GRIT began by crafting a content strategy identifying important features and creating an editorial calendar. Topics included timely neighborhood updates and home and lawn care tips alongside feature stories and resources designed to educate, inform and entertain.

Building on the planned content structure, GRIT created the design for the newsletter within Constant Contact, leveraging the community brand and creating a structure that would allow for seamless creation of future issues. Because all content is housed in the e-mail (versus linking off to an expanded blog), it was important that the layout was visually engaging, but also could handle a heavy amount of content while delivering ease in reading.

With the foundation in place, GRIT supports Farm Lane with content creation and executes setup and distribution of each issue.

The emails consistently deliver strong performance averaging a roughly 70% open rate.
