Welcome Emily!

Our 2015 Summer Intern

Emily Spillar is a senior communications major and business administration minor at Penn State Harrisburg. She is a Career Peer with the Career Services Department and Vice President of the Public Relations Club. Outside of school, Emily volunteers at the Sexual Assault Resource and Counseling Center of Lebanon, where she had a hand in planning the nonprofit’s annual 5K Run/Walk this spring.

Emily is interested in all things public relations, advertising, marketing, branding and social media, and she hopes to pursue a career in integrated marketing communications. Her ultimate goal is to work at a magazine publishing house! Emily came to Moxie because of the wide variety of services that Moxie provides its clients. She is excited to learn as much as she can about the agency side of business from the Moxie team.

More on Emily

What do you love? What do you enjoy?

I love spending time with my family! They are my biggest supporters and have had a huge role in shaping me into the person that I am today. We are a tight-knit group and always have the best of times together. I am an only child, so my dog, Parker, is like my sister. We treat her like a family member, and, therefore, she celebrates every holiday with us! She has a stocking at Christmas, an Easter basket and dresses up for Halloween each year.

What is your guilty pleasure TV show?

I am absolutely obsessed with all things Bravo! I think that Andy Cohen is a genius for creating the Real Housewives franchise! The Real Housewives of New York City is my favorite, because of how fiery and straightforward the women are.

What are you most passionate about professionally?

I am most passionate about producing the best work possible! I am a bit of a perfectionist and will continue to work and tweak things until I achieve the desired result. I strive to do this each and every time I work on an assignment. My mom instilled this in me from the time I was little by saying, “If you are going to do something, do it with everything that you have.” I am excited to be able to bring this work ethic to Moxie!
