GRIT is seeking a Bookkeeper/Office Manager to manage the general bookkeeping duties and day-to-day office functions of the business. Position: Full time or part time depending on applicant’s needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Transactions (Accounts Payable & Receivables)

  • Invoice clients and track income on monthly basis
  • Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
  • Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable
  • Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly
  • Process payroll in a timely manner
  • Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
  • Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
  • Maintain the chart of accounts with assistance from our accountant
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
  • Maintain SIMPLE payments


  • Oversee and record employee vacation schedules
  • Assist in overseeing adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Help design and implement company policies and procedures
  • Maintain a safe and secure working environment
  • Coordinate all aspects of new hires orientation and training
  • Actively plan and execute company events
  • Acts as liaison between internal staff and IT management company to address workstation or network issues
  • Assign and manage software licenses to appropriate staff
  • Maintain personnel records
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating job requirement and job descriptions for all positions
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state and local employment laws.
  • Employee compensation and benefits administration


  • Issue monthly financial statements
  • Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
  • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management


  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

Other duties

  • First on phones and doors
  • Oversee mailings on behalf of GRIT
  • Keep supply inventory and order when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Minimum 3 years bookkeeping experience. Agency experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year university/college
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Quickbooks
  • Detail oriented and organized
